Saints Loan Watch: Tuesday, November 11

Bournemouth continues their unbeaten streak in The Championship, but there was a disappointment for a pair of Saints loanees in The FA Cup. Find out how our loanees did in our weekly "Saints Loan Watch".

Bournemouth stayed in second place after draw

The Cherries picked up four points from two games last week, they beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at Hillsborough in the midweek fixture, a result which took them to the top pf The Championship. Artur Boruc was in goal and managed to keep a clean sheet, with two goals in the space of four minutes from Andrew Surman and Ryan Fraser sealed the deal for Eddie Howe's men.

But their stay at the top was brief as they dropped to second place following a goalless draw against Middlesbrough at the Riverside. Boruc managed to keep another clean sheet, but has settle for a point. Bournemouth now trailed Derby County by one point, and will host Ipswich Town when the league resumes on November 22.

Burnley defeated Hull; snapped winless streak

Gaston Ramirez came on as a sub in the 51st minute but was unable to stop his side from losing to Burnley. That defeat means that Hull has the distinction of being the first team to lose to Burnley this season in the Premier League. Hull is currently in 14th place with 11 points.

Swindon climbed to third; out of FA Cup

It was a mixed week for the pair of Jake Stephens and Jordan Turnbull at Swindon. They defeated Preston North End 1-0 last Tuesday to climbed up to the third place in League One. The pair played the whole match, with Stephens booked on the 74th minute.

But that was followed by a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Cheltenham Town, as the League Two side progressed to the next round. Stephens played for 62 minutes before being subbed off, while Turnbull completed the match but was booked on the 70th minute. Swindon will host league leaders Bristol City this Saturday.

Back to back loss as Norwich slumped to 10th

Norwich City suffered consecutive defeats against Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest as they dropped to 10th in The Championship. Dutchman Jos Hooiveld was on the bench for the latter fixture, but remained as an unused substitute. The Canaries will host Brighton & Hove Albion when the league resumes on November 22.

Hibs defeated Cowdenbeath; Sinclair remained on the bench

Two first-half goals was enough to give Hibernian a 2-1 win over host Cowdenbeath at The Scottish Championship. Jake Sinclair was an unused substitute for the match. His now stands at fourth place with 18 points from 12 games. They will host third place Queen of the South this Saturday.

Osvaldo returned for Inter

Pablo Osvaldo returned to action for Inter Milan but could not helped his side to a win in the Europa League or Serie A. The striker came on as a sub and played the last 20 minutes as Inter was held to a 1-1 draw against St. Étienne in Europa League.

He then played the last two minutes of Inter's 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona at San Siro on Sunday. Inter now sits in ninth place with 16 points. They will play AC Milan in the Milan derby after the international break.
