Southampton to play Ipswich Town

The FA Cup third round is when Premier League teams began to enter the fray, and in this year's edition Southampton will face Championship side Ipswich Town.

Last season The Saints crashed out in the fifth round, losing 1-0 to Sunderland. Ipswich won't be a pushover, as they are flying high in the Championship, but that could play to Southampton's hand as they focus on securing an automatic promotion to Premier League over a cup run.

Koeman wants Boruc to stay put

Polish goalkeeper Artur Boruc is currently out on loan with Bournemouth in The Championship, but with his loan set to end in January, Koeman believes that the 34-year old would be better off to stay with The Cherries beyond January.

"I think that's the best for the player and the team."

"We made a decision to buy a keeper for the future of the club. I prefer that it will continue like now."

So, maybe this is goodbye?

Third straight loss as Saints tumbled out of top four

The Saints fall to their second consecutive home defeats and third consecutive loss against Manchester United last night. A result which dropped them to fifth. You can read our match report here.

And here's young Jake Hesketh talking about his debut for the first team:

Hopefully his next game with the first team ends with a win.
