Saints Chairman: "Rodriguez and Schneiderlin Not For Sale"

Have Saints' summer sales really ceased?

Southampton Chairman Ralph Krueger today refuted claims Saints stars Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin are the latest players set to leave the club.

The two starlets have been continually linked with moves to EPL rivals Tottenham Hotspur; reuniting the pair with their former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine manager's departure from the south coast club to Spurs has seen five of Saints' 2013/14 starting XI leave for other teams in the league.

Krueger, along with the rest of the Southampton boardroom, have been criticised for their silence while the club sold off its star assets.

Is it worth treating Krueger's words as gospel? Probably not. Saints Director of Football Les Reed has come under fire after announcing during the 2013/14 season that no players will be sold and Pochettino will continue on as the club's manager.

Those words proved to be hollow. Let's hope Krueger's hold more weight.
