Southampton visit Liverpool as new Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is set to make his Anfield bow in a league fixture.
Klopp made his league debut in a tight 0-0 draw against league rivals Tottenham Hostpur. Meanwhile, Saints blew a two goal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Leicester City last time out.
Liverpool's new German coach Klopp has already made his first appearance at Anfield, overseeing his side's 1-1 draw with Russian outfit Rubin Kazan in the Europa League on Thursday.
That game could well have an impact on today's proceedings as those competing in the Europa League tend to struggle in their following league fixture. Wishful thinking? Perhaps.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman welcomes back goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg to the fold - a relief to many Saints fans following on from Kelvin Davis' calamitous performance in between the sticks last week against Leicester.
Cedric Soares is also set to feature for Southampton despite suffering a gash above his eye against the Foxes last Saturday. Jay Rodriguez is the only new notable omission from the squad as he is struggling with a foot injury.
Meanwhile, Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino return to the fold for Liverpool after a month out on the sidelines through injury.
