Sadio Mane has been named on the BBC African Footballer of the Year shortlist.
The Senegalese forward has been in great form for his club and country at the start of this season and that has been recognised by the BBC. The forward was also shortlisted for the Confederation of African Football Player of the Year award.
Mane is shortlisted alongside two other Premier League players. Manchester City's and Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure as well as Swansea City's and Ghana's Andre Ayew are up for the award.
Also shortlisted are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund and Gabon and FC Porto’s Yacine Brahimi. The Algerian is the current holder of the award.
Journalists from each African country nominated the players shortlisted and the award will be decided by a public vote which will close on the 30th November. The recipient will be announced on the 11th December.
