Prediction League: Trip to the Etihad

The sky blues are coming off back to back defeats so there couldn't be a better time for our boys to head to the Etihad. Or we could be facing an almighty backlash!

Manchester City haven't had the best week. First they got blown away by Liverpool and their much publicised German "gegenpress". Then they flew to Turin for a lesson in the classic art of Italian defending. Ronald Koeman will be hoping the saints version of Dutch total football will prove equally bewildering for Pellegrini's men.

There is more bad news for City fans when they look to the physio room at the breathtakingly huge Etihad campus. Aguero may be back playing but Silva is touch and go for this weekend whilst Joe Hart has joined Vincent Kompany on the injury list.

Don't go feeling too sorry for our northern friends though. Kompany's understudies, Mangala and Otamendi, cost more than £60 million quid and if the poor form continues for too long then coaching messiah Pep Guardiola will take over and sort things out.

To the predictions:

Stoke unexpectedly beat us last week. So no change in the standings.

WRITER POINTS
Jake 8
Dan 7
Merse 6
Connor 5
Lawro 5
George 3
Will 2

Lawro: 2-0

"Saints are unbeaten away from home this season but they do not score many goals - they have only managed seven in six games on the road - and I think City will find a way of winning this one."

Merse: 2-1

"I'm going to go for Man City, but I wouldn't be shocked if this was a draw."

Connor: 3-1

"Saints to lose this one 3-1."

Jake: 3-0

"Can't say I'm confident! We don't seem to get going at the Etihad (apart from that amazing 15/20 minute spell after promotion) so I think it will be a hard day for the Saints."

Dan: 3-0

"With City coming off the back of a couple of poor results, I predict a bit of a spanking. 3-0 if their injured players are back, 1-0 if not. How will we fare without Pelle?"

George: 1-1

"Saints are playing a team that could easily come back and give them a bloody nose, but with Hart and Kompany out, plus Silva and Aguero not 100% fit, it's not too difficult to see Saints continuing this unbeaten streak.

(Cue a City 5-0 drubbing...)"

Will: 2-1

"City aren't going to lose three in a row. Our undefeated away run ends here."

Bonus Prediction Time:

There is one person man enough to predict a saints victory this weekend and that man is Luol Deng. The Chicago Bulls and Great Britain basketball star was Lawro's rival this week and foresees the following:

Luol Deng: 2-3

"I'm going for Southampton because Arsenal need them to win this one."

C'mon Luol! Lawro predicts is a British institution, take it seriously!
