SB Nation and NBC Sports have once again joined efforts to bring the finest Premier League action to our American readership.
Saturday was a mixed day for Ronald Koeman's Southampton side. Despite coming away with a 3-1 loss, Saints played well against title contenders Manchester City after experiencing some intense pressure straight from kick-off.
That forward pressure from City told in the opening stages, leading to two goals in the first 20 minutes for the home side from Kevin de Bruyne and Fabian Delph.
However, Saints got a goal back through Shane Long after the break and arguably should have got a second to even the scores. But, Dusan Tadic's chipped effort was comfortably dealt with by stand-in City 'keeper Willy Caballero.
Manuel Pellegrini's City then regained their two-goal cushion after Aleksandar Kolarov expertly dispatched his volley into the Saints net.
