Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is reportedly after Fiorentina's Spanish midfielder Borja Valero, according to the Guardian.
In that same report, Manchester United are also allegedly in the hunt for the box-to-box midfielder.
Valero has started every league match for Fiorentina so far this season and has emerged as one of Serie A's most dependable men in the middle of the park.
Having notched a goal and a sole assist so far this season, Valero has in fact played a whole season in the Premier League during an ill-fated spell at West Bromwich Albion - a season which saw the Baggies relegated from the top tier of English football to the Championship.
The former Real Madrid man made 30 appearances for West Brom after signing for a club record fee of £4.7million from Real Mallorca. However, the Spaniard soon left as the club decided to move him on after they had endured relegation.
