SB Nation and NBC Sports have once again joined efforts to bring the finest Premier League action to our American readership.

This week saw Ronald Koeman's Southampton make the trip up to Wearside to take on Sam Allardyce's Sunderland to try and earn their first away win at the Stadium of Light since 2003.

Southampton were the dominant side throughout most of the game. But, the Saints struggled to find the cutting edge to earn all three points.

However, Saints left-back Ryan Bertrand earned his side a penalty after his marauding run forced Sunderland midfielder Yann M'Vila make a rash tackle in his own penalty box which drew the foul.

Saints' Serbian international Dusan Tadic coolly dispatched the penalty, beating Sunderland's giant goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon.

So, if you live Stateside or in one of the USA's territories, put your feet up and re-live Southampton's well-earned win up in the north of England.
