Saints unveil new 15/16 home kit!

James Ward-Prowse is centrefold of the new strip

SOUTHAMPTON have given fans a nice end-of-season gift by unveiling the new 15/16 home shirt, after an extensive social media campaign involving a "leading colour expert".

Dr Barry Gale, who is one of the 'top 1000 colour experts in colour and pattern pyschology', has been down at Staplewood training ground to help players like captain José Fonte, James Ward-Prowse and Jay Rodriguez in a bid to 'smooth the transition to Saints' new 2015/16 kit'.

Unsurprisingly after the campaign involving Dr Gale, the new home shirt is red with white stripes, black shorts, and red socks, and the kit will be once again made by sportswear brand Adidas.

The club had their kits manufactured by Adidas in the 13/14 season, but after several teething problems with Adidas and the club's hierarchy, the three year deal was cancelled early.

Following a change at boardroom level, the new board tried to resurrect the sponsorship deal, but the deal wasn't done in time for the kit to made by the German company for the 14/15 season.

Instead, Adidas and Saints will be once again in partnership, as they see out the last year of the original deal that started July 1st 2013.

The shirt is available to preorder from June 1st, and goes on sale July 3rd.
