Reports from Argentina say want-away Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo is interesting MLS outfit New York Red Bulls.
The Italian international, who has scored four times in 14 appearances for his adopted country, has been a disaster for Saints since moving from Roma in 2013.
Osvaldo moved to Southampton for a club record transfer fee in the region of £15million.
Former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino, who had previously coached Osvaldo at Barcelona club Espanyol in La Liga, would have known of Osvaldo's behavioural issues in the past.
However, within months of being at the club, Osvaldo headbutted current Southampton captain Jose Fonte in the face after a training ground incident. This comes after punching then-Roma team mate Erik Lamela for not passing him the ball during a Serie A match.
Following the Fonte fall-out, the forward was loaned to Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan before the two clubs rejected the opportunity to sign him permanently. Now, Osvaldo is at his boyhood club Boca Juniors in Argentina.
New York Red Bulls are short on firepower, despite ex-Saint Bradley Wright-Phillips banging in the goals for the New Jersey-based team. Here's hoping they're desperate enough to take him off our hands!
