With Morgan Schneiderlin's rumoured move away from the club looking more and more likely as each day passes, Southampton are looking for a suitable replacement.
The Mirror reports Saints are upping their interest in Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.
The Polish international, who has earned 24 caps for his country, was instrumental in Sevilla's success this season as they earned a Champions League place following their impressive run which saw them lift the Europa League trophy.
With Southampton entering the European competition for the first time since 2003, alongside the likely prospect of Schneiderlin moving away from the club, Ronald Koeman will be looking to bolster a Saints squad which really suffered from a lack of depth in the more congested part of the Premier League season.
The report says Sevilla have already rejected a £9million bid from the South Coast club - and are looking for a fee in the region of £22million which would trigger the buy-out clause in Krychowiak's contract.
But, with Arsenal sniffing around, Southampton will likely have to tie this deal up quickly if it were to happen.
Rumour Rating: 6/10 - Slightly hopeful. However, I'm not sure Krychowiak would want to leave a club he helped gain Champions League football right away.
