Hot on the heels of Southampton's announcement of signing right wing-back Cédric, fellow right-sided defender Nathaniel Clyne looks set to head out the revolving door of St. Mary's.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Liverpool has agreed a £12.5million deal with their Premier League rivals to take Clyne to Merseyside - Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers' sixth summer signing before the transfer window has even opened.

The England International's Southampton contract was set to expire next summer so Ronald Koeman opted to cash in on Clyne now before he left the Hampshire club for nothing.

As a Southampton fan, it's quite frustrating to sell arguably the Premier League's best left-back for such a low fee. The £12.5million deal then becomes even more disappointing when you take the fact that Crystal Palace will be taking a sizeable percentage of this transfer fee,

Clyne had been linked to a whole host of top Premier League clubs, including Manchester United. But, the England star has opted for Liverpool - which will see him link up with former Southampton teammates Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren.

London-born Clyne will complete his medical with Liverpool upon returning from holiday in Las Vegas.

Rumour Rating: 5/10 - it was always happening, wasn't it? It's annoying to see Clyne go for such a low transfer fee. But, Saints' hand was forced. Wish Clyne all the best.
