Reports from the Dutch press are saying Tonny Vilhena will not be leaving Feyenoord for Southampton this summer.

Despite an indifferent season this time around, Vilhena is considered a top youth prospect in the Netherlands after breaking into the Feyenoord first team under Ronald Koeman.

Vilhena, who often plays in the centre of midfield, is still under contract with the Rotterdam-based club, but this is due to expire in the summer of 2016 - resulting in various clubs around Europe - including the Saints - eyeing up the young Dutchman's services for a cheaper deal this time around.

At just 20 years old, Vilhena has already made over 100 appearances for Feyenoord so those at De Kuip will be delighted to hear they have retained the youngster's services for another year.

Southampton, meanwhile, will be hoping they can secure a deal with the prospect once his contract expires next summer. That's if the rumours are true, anyway!

Rumour Rating: 7/10 - Credible source. Disappointing news.
