Last weeks optimism was misplaced. We bore witness to the Lukaku that destroyed us in a West Brom shirt whilst our backline reverted to the manic, paniced defending that we were accustomed to seeing under Adkins.
The bookies have spoken, and it is a resounding ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Neither team is favourite. 15/8 for a home or away win. 23/10 for the draw.
To the predictions and with everyone going for a saints win last week I get to just copy and paste last weeks table:
WRITER | POINTS |
Jake | 1 |
Merse | 1 |
Connor | 0 |
Dan | 0 |
George | 0 |
Lawro | 0 |
Will | 0 |
To the predictions:
Lawro: 1-2
"Saints are one of the better sides in the Premier League and I do not see them coming unstuck two weeks running."
Dirty Skate: 1-1
"I think it will be another draw for Watford, which will be a good result. If you had asked me last week before Saints lost, I would have gone for Southampton, but that loss to Everton has to knock the stuffing out of them a bit"
Jake: 0-1
"A hard-fought win as the Saints backline proves to be a bit tougher following on from their showing against Everton. Saints grab their goal with 20 minutes left to play during a back-and-forth contest."
Dan: 0-2
"2-0 win gives Saints their buzz back as they outclass the opposition."
Will: 2-1
"Don't call it a europa hangover. Its just a saints team that have been in relegation form on their travels for months coming up against a team fielding a solid midfield and a scary strike force."
Conor: 1-2
"Saints to slog their way to a 2-1 win"
George: 1-2
"Southampton go 2-0 up before Watford make it a nervy finish."
Rules are one point for a correct result, three for a correct score.
