Prediction League: Watford at Home

Eight defeats in ten. No worries, the bookies still make saints favourites against an in form Watford side.

The games continue to come thick and fast and up next is the second of three home games in a week. Many thought Watford would be a disaster this season. A new manager in a new country and too many new faces. There is also a distrust of the ominous sounding Pozzo family of clubs.

But these people are fools. Quique Sanchez Flores is a talented young manager and was a massive coup for the hornets. There were some really solid signings added to an already potent attack and the money involved in the premier league means Watford are now the favourite club for Gino Pozzo. They have a vast network of scouts at their disposal and a very bright looking future.

The future is still bright for the saints, but another loss here and the present might start getting darker. Koeman can once again call upon his favourite striker Graziano Pelle but will that be enough to breathe new life into our anaemic attack. The entire team look a bag of nerves anywhere near the opposition box leading to many calls for the kids to get a game. Ryan Seager seems an obvious solution to add sharpness in the box, while Jake Hesketh would provide a level of incisiveness that has been sorely lacking.

When asked about Southampton's struggles, the Watford manager said.

"In the last year Southampton have done better than the squad they have [suggests they can]."

Bit harsh.

"They have been fighting against Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester United and Liverpool - amazing teams."

"Results are very important for the confidence of the players. They didn't start well so they have a lot of problems with the confidence of the players."

"They have an amazing team, a good manager and amazing fans. So the match we are going to find is very tough for us."

Well, that's a bit more like it.

To the predictions:

Connor was the only pessimist last time out, he rockets up the league with a correct scoreline.

Dan 9
George 9
Lawro 8
Will 5
Tommy 0

Merse: 2-2
"Southampton are not as bad as their league position suggests. I don't think they will be in a relegation battle; they have too much quality. I expect there to be a few goals in this one."

Lawro: 2-1
"Saints have got to turn the corner at some point because they have got some good players."

Connor: 2-0
""Strange feeling that we will win this one.""

Dan: 1-0
"Feel like we've bottomed out"

George: 1-1
"Watford in decent form but Saints need a good result."

Tommy: 3-1
"The beginning of my dominance in the prediction league and the beginning of a bright start to 2016 for Saints. 3-1!"

Jake: 1-0
"I too am also fairly positive about this one for some strange reason! A hard-fought 1-0 win for the Saints."

Will: 1-2
"They'll lump two up top. Koeman will play three at the back. One of those three will be Yoshida. Ighalo and Deeney will destroy him. We'll stop laughing at Liverpool for loaning Caulker"
