Southampton are close to signing Charlie Austin from QPR.
It is understood that the striker, who is in the final six months of his contract at Loftus Road, has passed a medical and agreed personal terms ahead of a £4m move.
Ronald Koeman has been keen to sign a new striker this month after struggling to be clinical in recent weeks as well as Graziano Pelle and Jay Rodriguez suffering from injuries.
Last month, the Saints boss claimed that Saints would not make a move for Austin, saying that a move for the forward would be too expensive. However, many media outlets are reporting this morning that the 26-year-old will be confirmed as a Southampton player by the end of the day.
Austin impressed in his debut Premier League campaign last season, finding the net 18 times. Austin also has 118 goals in 195 league career starts and looks to be a good signing to bolster the Saints attack.
