In the run up to this fixture last season one of the musers suggested the most egregious thing that has ever been written on this blog.
We should root for the opposition.
Unfortunately it seemed the referees had taken heed of his words and gifted the foxes victory by ignoring a clear handball, which would have been a red card and a penalty.
Then ignoring a massive foul on Clasie when they scored the only goal of the game.
On to today's game and it's a first look at how our boys can cope with a long trip to "Europe". Thus far two games in a week has been a God send. Giving squad players some game time and leading to the return of clean sheets!
Some of the senior players were given a rest whilst the squad went to a European tie not in Europe.
On to the predictions:
Lawro: 2-1
"I think the Foxes will edge this one, although the signs are that Saints are improving under Claude Puel."
Merse: 1-2
"This should be a good game. Saints are a decent team and ripped West Ham to shreds last week.
Southampton are still an under-estimated side and I fancy them to win this."
Jake: 1-1
"Going for a hard-fought draw this time around! 1-1 in a good effort undone by dodgy officiating."
Dan V: 1-2
"We're the better team at the moment, although they are still dangerous up top. Long to bag the winner."
Tommy: 1-3
"3-1 to Saints. Austin hat trick!"
Will: 1-2
"The refs are no longer buying into the Leicester fairytale and we were unlucky at the King Power last season."
Paul: 1-1
"Leicester haven't got going yet, though I think they're still a good team. But we can get a point out of them. 5 people on twitter to explode with a renewed hatred of me as they're reminded of last season's 'incident'"
George: 2-0
"That extra two days of rest for a team that relies a lot on high tempo football can't be underestimated. Saints are in good form but just feel that Leicester will have the beating of us."
Allen: 2-1
"We've looked very good as of late, but the travel will be too much, which is bound to happen."
