Prediction League: Chelsea at Home

Saints go into today's game unbeaten at home since February. Their opponents that day visit St Mary's this "Super Sunday" afternoon.

Today's opponents didn't exactly start the season well. Early on question marks were raised about the creaking back four. Questions that weren't answered with the late summer signing of the talented but calamatious pseudo centre back David Luiz.

Defeats against Arsenal and Liverpool even lead to rumours that Conte might be fired.

Then came the magical 3-4-3.

Antonio Conte has reverted to a formation he knows and loves and it is getting the best out of his players. The form has picked up and the reports of a potential sacking for the Italian can now be shown for what they are. Newspaper nonsense.

David Luiz now has two team mates to cover his mistakes and with a Matic-Kante midfield super shield in front it might be a surprise if they ever concede again.

It was in this system that £100m man Pogba first began to look like a potential £100m man. Even nomadic winger Victor Moses is settling into a Chelsea team that has shunned him for years.

The saints fans who started the season sceptical about the diamond must have worried about the 3-4-3 Pep announced before our last game. It seems a formation perfect to exploit the risks of our narrow game.

But last sunday went okay. Puel will be hoping to use the same tactics against another 3-4-3 big six goliath today.

Everyone picked city to win last week and they did not. So the standings stay as they were.

Lawro: 0-2

"Chelsea will be full of confidence on the back of three league wins in a row, including that thumping of Manchester United."

Merse: 1-1

"Southampton have only lost one in their last 10 and this is a really difficult match for Chelsea."

Jake: 1-1

"Feeling positive about Saints, but the games are starting to stack up. Hoping for a 1-1 draw with Saints the better side against a resurgent Chelsea."

Allen: 1-2

"2-1 Chelsea. Will be 1-1 for until someone foolish like David Luiz scores late."

Will: 1-2

"I'm going 2-1 Chelsea. Think we'll match them for 90 minutes and it'll be level until they do something nefarious in the closing stages to take the 3 points."

George: 1-1

"A hard-earned, well-fought 1-1 draw."
