Southampton return to Premier League action on Sunday and are riding a high after Claude Puel's men enjoyed a remarkable comeback victory to beat Italian giants Inter Milan in the Europa League on Thursday night. However, Hull City are having a torrid time of late and find themselves in a relegation dogfight despite a bright start to the season.
Saints could welcome back Jose Fonte, Charlie Austin and Steven Davis to the first team after they were all benched for the Inter game. Meanwhile, Puel does not have the luxury of calling upon Shane Long, Cedric Soares, Matt Targett and Alex McCarthy, who all remain sidelined through injury.
Hull boss Mike Phelan could well welcome back Dieumerci Mbokani and Robert Snodgrass to at least the substitute bench today after long spells out nursing respective hamstring and ankle injuries.
Stats Zone:
Southampton have won all six of their last games against Hull - including four Premier League matches which has seen the Tigers only score one goal.
Hull's last win against Southampton occurred in March 2008 - a 5-0 loss as Saints battled for survival from relegation in the Championship.
Saints have a thing for Sundays, winning six, drawing two and only losing once in their last nine Premier League games on the day of the weekend's close.
Hull have conceded 20 goals in their last six Premier League games. Conversely, Saints have only conceded four in that time.
Defeat for Hull would see them lose seven successive league games for the first time in 36 years when they were in the third tier of English football.
Betting Odds:
