Southampton draw Norwich City away in FA Cup third round

Southampton will be squaring off against Norwich City at Carrow Road in the FA Cup third round.

The tie is scheduled to be played over 6-9th January 2017 and Saints will be hoping to avoid the result they faced when the Saints last played away at Norwich - a 1-0 defeat in the Premier League last season.

Norwich, who thumped Brentford 5-0 on the weekend, currently lie 7th in the Championship, just a point away from the division's play-off places. The two teams have met on four previous occasions in the FA Cup, with Saints winning 2-0 at home in the fifth round in the club's 2003 campaign which saw them reach the final against Arsenal.

This draw also sees Southampton winger Nathan Redmond make his return to his former club, who sold the Birmingham native for £11million in the summer transfer window.
