Shane Long doubtful for Bournemouth

Southampton's best attacking player could be missing on Tuesday.

Shane Long picking up a knock and going out of the match against Chelsea was an obvious game-changer. The in-form man has been most impressive causing problems for the opposing defenses with his pace and high work rate.

However, for Tuesday's game against South Coast foe Bournemouth, he is doubtful to play according to Ronald Koeman. Koeman also said that Shane's injury doesn't look to be a hamstring injury, so the striker shouldn't be out for a long time.

This comes as a massive blow as both replacement options have been out of form and not looking likely to score in Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle.

Could we see a change in formation where Charlie Austin is the lone striker or will we see a similar formation where either Mane or Pelle take Long's spot? I for one would rather see Mane in Long's spot as a Pelle/Austin front two doesn't exactly look the most exciting option.

No matter who replaces Long, Southampton will have a lot easier of a time on Tuesday, which will be a great chance to bounce back with a win.
