Southampton are reportedly interested in signing young Scottish left-back Kieran Tierney as back-up for Ryan Bertrand.
According to the Scottish Sun, Ronald Koeman and his staff are readying a big money bid to prize Celtic's finest youth asset away from Glasgow.
Born in the Isle of Man, Tierney has been a first-team regular this season, displacing Honduran left-back Emilio Izaguirre before being capped by the full Scotland national team for the first time this week in their friendly win over Denmark.
If the reports are to be believed, the addition of Tierney will mean the club has acquired four big-name Celtic players - Virgil van Dijk, Victor Wanyama and Fraser Forster for a combined price of around £35million.
Personally, I don't know what the motive would be behind signing a young left back with Matt Targett already comfortably filling the void in Bertrand's absence. But, I guess Saints are an easy link for any agent/media team who need to shop Celtic's players around in the transfer market.
