This week's match will be a big one for both teams, especially Southampton, who may need all three points in this match for Europa League qualification. Ronald Koeman spoke to the press at Staplewood this afternoon in the build-up to the match.

Here are the news and notes from the press conference:

  • RK says that if his side finishes in a good way, they can be proud of their season.
  • RK says that dropped points have hurt Saints the most.
  • RK says that if they can win the last three games, they could get to Europe. He notes that that is very difficult, however.
  • RK says that City will be focused, even with the upcoming Real Madrid game, because they are still fighting for top-4.
  • Not letting Man City have too much space for counter-attacking will be key.
  • RK says he will be at Southampton next season, but wouldn't say he'd commit further.
  • The entire squad is fit,  as Charlie Austin returned to full training today.
  • RK believes that Southampton can change their fortunes against City this weekend.
  • RK says he doesn't think another Leicester type of season will happen next year.
  • RK says he looks forward to welcoming back the FA Cup winners because it is great for the fans and players to see the history that has been made.
  • RK says he highly rates Kevin De Bruyne, he says he is one of the best players on City.
  • RK says he wants to see the ambition and will to grow in the club before he signs a contract extension.

A little more detailed than last week's presser (because we aren't playing Villa), and you had some tidbits on Koeman's future, as well as injury news.
