Prediction League: Final Day

With one game to go we have a prediction league champion!

It's the final day of the season! A time of joy and celebration as away fans get dressed up and home fans give their heroes a rousing send off for the summer.

On the flip side it means no domestic football for three months. A barren summer with only Euros, Copa America and Olympics to scratch our football itch.

It's not our opponents final game of the season and hopefully they will have more than half an eye on next week's cup final. Ledley broke his leg last week and that'll be in the players mind, save yourself for the cup final lads.

Pardew has hinted at how seriously they will take this game. Speroni will start for sentimental reasons.

It's simple. Win and we're 7th. Stoke draw and we'll be 6th. Bournemouth win as well and we're 5th! If we lose Liverpool could relegate us to 8th and leave us Europa-less.

To the predictions:

It was the Saints and not the Spurs that went marching in last week. Only Tommy predicted that. He also got the correct score. Despite joining the league half way through he is within touching distance of the pelaton. No change up front where Connor is still 5 points ahead. Meaning he is now uncatchable.

Well done Connor. In this most unpredictable of seasons you are the champion!

*Latecomers to the league

Merson: 3-0
"It's pointless not resting players, they only get in a cup final once in a blue moon.."

Lawro: 2-0
"If you are about to go away on your holidays then you do not start climbing up on your roof to fix the tiles the day before, do you?"

George: 3-1
"3-1 Saints."

Dan: 4-0
"These kind of predictions usually backfire but I am confident that our boys want to bow out on a high and finish above Liverpool for the first time.

6th would be very, very nice."

Tommy: 5-1
"Give me 5-1 Saints. Shane Long scores twice, Sadio Mane three times, and we concede a bad goal. Europa League is closing in."

Connor: 3-0
"3-0 to Saints and a 6th placed finish."

Jake: 2-0
"A comfortable 2-0 win for Saints as they break their Premier League points tally once again."

Will: 3-1
"We'll find a way to concede but it should be a fun end to the season. Don't think Stoke or Bournemouth will be doing us any favours so it'll be another day supporting United next Saturday. Ugh."
