Southampton visit Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon with Claude Puel's men still winless in the fledgling stages of the 2016/17 campaign.

Starting Saints left-back Ryan Bertrand, who hasn't featured in Southampton's opening three games, could feature in London, having recovered from a knee injury. If not, it's expected Matt Targett will be starting at left-back once again.

Fraser Forster is also expected to play against Arsenal at a ground he often performs well at - despite being sent home with an arm injury while on international duty for England. Meanwhile, Saints' record summer signing Sofiane Boufal is still sidelined with injury.

Arsenal were busy just as the summer transfer window drew to a close, signing German defender Shkodran Mustafi and forward Lucas Perez. Both could well make their debuts on Saturday.

Gunners coach Arsene Wenger said Alexis Sanchez will have to be assessed before being confirmed as playing following a travel-heavy international break, while Per Mertesacker, Gabriel and Aaron Ramsey are all sidelined with injury.

Stats Zone:

Southampton have now went 15 games without a clean sheet which followed an impressive run.

However, Saints have kept three consecutive clean sheets against Arsenal.

Those clean sheets have meant Arsenal have only won one of their last six meetings with Saints in all competitions - losing three and drawing two.

But, Arsenal away isn't typically a good hunting ground for Southampton. Saints last league win away at Arsenal was back in 1987 - spanning 21 away games.

Arsenal haven't lost back-to-back home games since 2011.

If Arsenal lose, they equal their lowest Premier League points tally after four games (the others coming in '94 and '11).
