Last week’s drab 1-1 draw away at Brighton was hardly a source of inspiration for the Southampton fans unhappy at the club’s profligacy in front of goal and leaky defence.

This week, Mauricio Pellegrino’s Southampton welcome Burnley, whose manager—Sean Dyche—is being heavily linked to a move to Everton following the sacking of former Saints boss Ronald Koeman.

Saints’ dynamic midfielder Mario Lemina remains sidelined with an ankle injury which kept him from appearing against Brighton last week.

Meanwhile, Burnley—who have made a great start to this 2017/18 Premier League campaign—are missing Jon Walters, Dean Marney and Tom Heaton. Belgian playmaker Steven Defour is expected to return to the first team today.
