Southampton are reportedly targeting two Nordic standout players this summer according to Sky Sports.

The report states Saints are targeting the summer signings of Swansea City midfielder and Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson.

Jansson only agreed a permanent deal with Leeds in February and is currently at the club on loan from Italian side Torino. Meanwhile Sigurdsson recently signed a deal to stay in South Wales until 2020.

However, it's understood Saints will be looking to test both Swansea and Leeds' resolve in the summer if both clubs are playing in the Championship next season.

Saints have long been linked with a move for Sigurdsson but nothing has ever come of it. And with the kind of fee Swansea will be asking for him, relegated or otherwise, I won't be holding my breath.

Jonsson has become a fan favourite at Elland Road despite only moving there on loan in the summer. Leeds have defied most expectations under the tenure of former Saints man Garry Monk. They are currently in the running to secure a play-off place in the Championship, with a view to earning the club promotion to the top flight for the first time since 2004.
