Following their midweek win over Crystal Palace, Southampton seek to continue with some positive momentum as they travel up to the Midlands to face Tony Pulis' West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.

The Baggies, meanwhile, are hoping to get over their 2-0 away loss to Watford in the week.

With West Brom positioned eighth in the league—seven points ahead of ninth-place Saints, though the South Coast club have two games in hand—Southampton boss Claude Puel stressed the importance of this particular fixture in achieving a top-eight Premier League finish.

Saints will be missing Oriol Romeu on Saturday as he begins his two-match ban as a result of 10 yellow cards across the season, while the likes of Steven Davis, Manolo Gabbiadini, Ryan Bertrand and Sofiane Boufal are doubts with injury.

West Brom could welcome back winger Matt Phillips to the first team on Saturday after he returned from a hamstring injury as a substitute in that aforementioned loss to Watford in the week.

Stats Zone (via BBC Sport):

West Brom have only lost, and conceded, once at home to Southampton in six Premier League meetings (W3, D2).

The Baggies are aiming to do the league double over Saints for only the second time in the Premier League.

West Brom have lost just twice in 10 league games at home, winning five of the last six.

However, they have suffered three defeats in their last five league fixtures.

The Baggies have scored 19 set-piece goals this season, a joint-league high with West Ham.

Albion have kept only three clean sheets in their last 19 league matches.

Southampton are unbeaten in three of their last four matches, having lost six of the previous seven.

They have doubled their tally of away victories for the season by winning two out of three on the road.

Saints are six places and six points worse off than at the same stage of last season.

Nathan Redmond has scored six Premier League goals this season, equalling his best return in a top-flight season.
