Southampton are set to sign young Polish defender Jan Bednarek for £5.7million, according to the Daily Mail.
Bednarek featured for his country's Under 21 side in the ongoing U21 Euro Championships being hosted in Poland—and was sent off against an England U21 side featuring Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse last week.
According to the report, Bednarek has rejected interest from German clubs Hannover and Freiburg in order to sign for Saints—flying to England alongside his agent ahead of a medical with Southampton to become new manager Mauricio Pellegrino's first signing at the club.
Bednarek has played 34 games in all competition for Poznan.
