Shane Long has struggled to find the net of late, but the Southampton and Republican of Ireland striker certainly found the target when he made a young fan’s day.
Alongside mobile phone provider Three‘s campaign #TheCallUp, Long surprised 8-year-old super fan Chloe Brennan with tickets to the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Serbia on Tuesday.
Chloe, who thought she was attending a lunch with her parents, instead was left speechless when the 30-year-old — and her favourite footballer — said “Hello!”.
Long presented her with a Republic of Ireland kit, which he signed ‘To Chloe, enjoy the game, Shane Long’, and then he revealed that Chloe would also be a mascot at the game.
“It’s a privilege to be in the position to make a young kid’s day like this. See you at the game Chloe! #COYBIG,” said Long via his official Twitter account.
