Southampton manager Mark Hughes has confirmed striker Danny Ings is a “big doubt” for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Fulham.

Ings has been unable to train over the international break and has failed to recover in time for Saturday according to Hughes.

He is Saints’ top scorer in the league so far, with four goals to his name since moving on loan from Liverpool.

“Danny Ings is a big doubt,” said Hughes in his pre-match press conference.

“He hasn’t been with the group training. We hoped to get him out training today, but he wasn’t able to.

“Danny will be the main doubt for us,” Hughes added. “He might be an option from the bench but that will be determined by what we see tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Mario Lemina have suffered from hamstring and thigh issues respectively. However, Hughes believes they may be fit in time for Fulham.

“Mohamed Eyyounoussi has a slight issue with his hamstring and Mario Lemina has an issue with his thigh but they should be fine.”
