Southampton are currently embroiled in a battle to sign Norwich City midfielder James Maddison according to The Guardian.
The report says Saints and Claude Puel’s Leicester City are currently being considered as front-runners for Maddison’s signature, while other clubs such as West Ham United, Fulham and Everton are interested in the 21-year-old.
Everton were initially expected to be leading the charge to sign Maddison, but have been usurped by Southampton and Leicester, who have reportedly offered £20m plus add-ons for the player.
Maddison scored 14 goals in the Championship for Norwich last season and is capped at England U-21 level.
