Leicester City confirmed they will not appeal Jamie Vardy’s red card picked up against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

England forward Vardy was sent off for a reckless tackle on Wolves defender Matt Doherty as the Foxes ran out 2-0 winners against their newly-promoted Midlands neighbours.

As a result of his red card, Vardy will serve a three match ban.

This means he will miss games against Southampton on Saturday, as well as Leicester’s midweek EFL Cup clash with former club Fleetwood Town and a trip to Liverpool the weekend after.

Surprisingly, it’s only the third red card Vardy’s picked up in the Premier League. Who remembers when he stamped on Virgil van Dijk two seasons ago?
