Former Southampton captain Jose Fonte has had his say on the current situation at Saints.
The Portuguese international, who is currently plying his trade at Lille in France, called into talkSPORT to give his two cents, saying it’s hard to watch Southampton struggle in the Premier League.
Fonte, who dropped down a division to join Southampton while we were still in League One, made close to 300 appearances for Saints.
"It's difficult to watch them struggle."

"Southampton was a team which was in such great shape."
"I'm not really sure if he [Hasenhüttl] can do the job." ❌

When asked about having doubts about Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl being the right man for the job, Fonte said: “I do yes. I have to be honest.
“It’s difficult to watch them struggle. It’s painful.
“Southampton was in such great shape two or three years ago. We were consistently achieving top ten.
“What can I say? They’re in a bad way, it’s easy for everyone to see that their confidence is not big.
“The manager, I don’t know, he doesn’t look like he’s capable of turning things round. I’m not sure if he can do the job to be honest.”
What do you make of Fonte’s comments?
