Southampton slumps to defeat West Ham

With safety already secured Southampton slumped to a 3-0 defeat at West Ham in the penultimate game of the Premier League season.

Southampton’s draw with Bournemouth a week ago was enough to see them over the line with two games to spare.

But that didn’t stop Marko Arnautovic from striking twice either side of the break whilst Ryan Fredericks added a third 18 minutes from full-time.

Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster returned to the pitch for the first time in 494 days with manager Ralph Hasenhuttl taking stock of his players heading into summer.

West Ham: Fabianski, Masuaku, Diop, Balbuena, Fredericks, Noble (Sanchez 78), Obiang, Diangana (Wilshere 68), Lanzini (Perez 83), Antonio, Arnautovic.
