Southampton striker Guido Carrillo is reportedly stuck in “limbo” at the club and has no idea where he’ll be playing in the upcoming 2019/20 season.

According to Spanish news outlet AS [H/T Daily Echo], Carrillo has been left in the dark by the club after being omitted from Southampton’s pre-season training camp in Austria.

Carrillo played under former Saints manager Mauricio Pellegrino at Leganes in La Liga last season on loan.

It was Pellegrino who signed Carrillo for a then-record fee of £19.1m from AS Monaco in January 2018. Since the Argentine manager was sacked by Southampton, Carrillo barely featured for the South Coast club.

Leganes are rumoured to have approached Southampton to take Carrillo back on loan again, but Saints want to sell the player and recoup some of the transfer money spent on him a year and a half ago.
