Southampton opposition injury update: New West Brom signing could play, others are fitness doubts

Southampton take on Slaven Bilic’s West Bromwich Albion at St Mary’s in their Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.

While Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has a full squad to select from after Nathan Redmond has recovered to resume training again, Bilic has some selection issues ahead of their trip to the South Coast.

INJURY UPDATE: Southampton attacker set to return for West Brom game

Conor Gallagher, who West Brom signed on loan from Chelsea, is set to feature for the Baggies as his fitness has improved since his start against Brentford in the Carabao Cup a couple of weeks ago.

However, other new signings such as former Chelsea man Branislav Ivanovic and Filip Krovinovic are set to miss out on their match with Southampton as they try to regain fitness without a pre-season.

Another fitness doubt has been defensive mainstay Ahmed Hegazi.

West Brom welcomed MK Dons for a behind-closed-doors friendly in midweek to try and boost those players’ fitness, though it’s not clear if Hegazi is ready to return yet.
