Southampton injury update: Danny Ings and Nathan Redmond out of Manchester United game

No matter how inconsistent and indifferent Manchester United have been of late, a Southampton manager will want to be able to field his strongest 11 players against a club of that stature.

Ralph Hasenhuttl is no different, but he confirmed that two key parts of Southampton’s attack are set to miss out on United’s visit this afternoon with injury.

Saints striker Danny Ings is still nursing his knee injury picked up in Southampton’s win at Aston Villa in October.

Southampton winger Nathan Redmond is recovering from a hamstring injury.

However, there is some good news on the horizon for Southampton fans.

In the pre-match press interviews, Hasenhuttl indicated that both Ings and Redmond could be fit enough to feature against Brighton & Hove Albion a week on Monday.
