Southampton take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City tomorrow afternoon at St Mary’s.

Saints are coming off a 1-1 draw away at Arsenal midweek and look a confident side as they lie third in the Premier League.

The Citizens, meanwhile, are ninth with a game in hand after two consecutive draws against city rivals Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion.

In terms of team news for Southampton, there is nothing to report in terms of injuries or suspensions for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men coming out of that Arsenal game.

However, the Austrian may look to rotate his squad as the fixtures start to pile up over Christmas.

At Arsenal, Saints started with an unchanged first team from their comprehensive 3-0 win over Sheffield United just days before.

As the match wore on at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, a couple of Southampton players looked particularly leggy, including Stuart Armstrong, Theo Walcott and Danny Ings. The first two of those names were substituted against Arsenal.

Summer signing Mohammed Salisu made the matchday squad once again but didn’t make it off the subs bench. The Ghanaian, signed from Real Valladolid in the summer, has yet to feature for the Saints. Could he be thrown into deep waters against City on Saturday?

Hasenhuttl is set to appear in pre-match press conferences later today. If there’s any news, we’ll let you know!
