Danny Ing’s 20th goal of the season helped Southampton rescue a point in 1-1 draw against Brighton in the Premier League.
Ings cancelled out Neal Maupay’s first-half goal, which came from a smartly taken throw in that caught the Southampton defence sleeping.
Glenn Murray flicked on the ball to allow Maupay to hit a left-footed effort past a frozen Alex McCarthy.
Southampton carried their momentum into the second half and came close to an equaliser when Ings struck the post whilst Che Adams was denied by a last ditch block off the rebound.
Pierre Emile-Hobjerg missed a golden chance to level, but Ings found the back of the net when he slotted a left-footed effort into the far corner on 66 minutes.
Jannik Vestergaard nearly scores a worldie from distance, but Mat Ryan made an unbelievable stretching save to tip it onto the crossbar.
Yves Bissouma came the closest to restoring Brighton’s lead only to smash a right-footed shot wide of the post a quarter-hour from full-time.
