It has been announced by both Southampton and Tottenham that former Saints captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has traded the South Coast for North London.
The Dane had a year left on his contract at Southampton before joining Spurs.
In a separate transfer, Kyle Walker-Peters moved in the opposite direction from Spurs to Southampton.
TRANSFER CONFIRMED: Saints sign Kyle Walker-Peters from Tottenham
Saints are rumoured to have agreed to a deal worth £15m from Tottenham for Hojbjerg. Officially, the fee is undisclosed.
The 25-year-old passed his Spurs medical earlier today.
Previously, Hojbjerg was reported to be close to a move to Everton, but was more keen on the Tottenham move.
In the Southampton club statement announcing Walker-Peters’ arrival at Saints, the club said:
“In a separate deal, midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has moved in the opposite direction, signing permanently with Tottenham for a significant fee.
“The 25-year-old leaves St Mary’s after four seasons with the club, in which he made 134 appearances and scored five goals.
“The club would like to thank Pierre for his efforts during his time as a Southampton player and we wish him luck for the future.”
When does the summer transfer window open and close?
The summer transfer window opened on 27 July and closes at 23:00 on 5 October.
A domestic-only window for trades between Premier League and EFL clubs will run from 5 October until 16 October at 17:00.
