Crystal Palace vs. Southampton Team and Injury News:

Premier League football is back.

Southampton kick off their 2020-21 campaign away at Crystal Palace later this afternoon.

Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl will be hoping his men get off to a flyer when they take on Roy Hodgson’s well-drilled side at Selhurst Park.

In terms of team news, it’s expected that Southampton pair Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse will feature after returning from England duty without injury.

However, Stuart Armstrong will likely miss out after picking up an injury with Scotland last week. Armstrong will be a big miss for the Saints.

New Southampton signing Mohammed Salisu isn’t expected to play for his new side until he gains match fitness. Hasenhuttl is targeting a date in October for that.

Crystal Palace’s big summer signing, Eberechi Eze from QPR, is an injury doubt with a groin strain.

Nathan Ferguson is also a fitness doubt, though new Chelsea loan signing Michy Batshuayi could play for Palace after returning to the club.
