Southampton are reportedly in talks with Everton over the loan signing of Tom Davies.
Saints are in dire need of a central midfielder since former captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg left the South Coast for Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer transfer window.
According to talkSPORT, it’s Davies who fits the bill.
The Scouse central midfielder has already made more than 100 appearances for the Toffees in the Premier League.
However, the 22-year-old may see limited game time this season after Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti revamped his side’s midfield with three big summer signings of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, Allan from Napoli, and Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford.
Davies was an unused substitute for Everton in their 5-2 demolition of West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
When does the summer transfer window open and close?
The summer transfer window opened on 27 July and closes at 23:00 on 5 October.
A domestic-only window for trades between Premier League and EFL clubs will run from 5 October until 16 October at 17:00.
