Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl will likely have to lean on the youth players at his disposal as injuries and illness continue to affect his Saints squad ahead of tonight’s game at Leicester City.
Key striker Danny Ings is expected to miss the game after testing positive for COVID-19 following Southampton’s 1-0 win over Liverpool almost a fortnight ago.
Ings has scored seven goals and assisted three so far this season for his boyhood club.

Senior players Nathan Redmond, Moussa Djenepo and Jannik Vestergaard all remain injured and will be out for the foreseeable future.
Vestergaard, who was once linked with a transfer to Leicester, has been one of Southampton’s key players so far this season.
Saints youth products Michael Obafemi and Nathan Tella are also unavailable for selection according to the club.
There is some good news, however. Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is expected to return to the first time after recovering from his positive coronavirus test, while Che Adams is in contention following the concussion he picked up against West Ham United.
