Southampton vs Burnley: Saints team news | Who is available to be selected by Hasenhuttl?

Saints are only missing two first team regulars for Burnley’s visit.

Fresh off Southampton’s first Premier League win of the season against Leeds United last week, Saints welcome Burnley to St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon.

Apart from picking up all three points on offer, another feel-good moment for Saints fans was the sight of Stuart Armstrong, a key player under Ralph Hasenhuttl’s tenure at Southampton, getting his first minutes of action so far this season.

The Scotland international is expected to be available again as he tries to regain match fitness to become a regular starter again like he was last season.

There is also good news with another ‘Scottish’ Saints player. Che Adams, who missed out on the Leeds win last weekend after picking up a knock on international duty, is apparently available for today.

Apart from suspended captain James Ward-Prowse and Jack Stephens, who has a knee injury, it’s thought that Southampton manager Hasenhuttl has a near-complete squad to pick from.

“Still Jack Stephens is missing,” Hasenhuttl said in a pre-match press conference. “Che Adams is back in training and available for the weekend.

“I think that’s it. There are no injuries there anymore otherwise. So I can pick definitely from a big squad.”
