Southampton are in good form and make the trip to Norfolk to take on Premier League basement club Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
And there is a big boost for any Saints fans present at Carrow Road as three of Southampton’s more important players so far this season could be in contention to play after some recent fitness scares.
Norwich vs Southampton: Canaries team news | Dean Smith has near fully fit squad
Tino Livramento, Armando Broja and Nathan Redmond have all been seen back in training with Southampton this week.
Livramento was forced to withdraw from the England Under 21s side after picking up a knock against Aston Villa a couple of weekends ago.
Broja, on loan from Chelsea, has been a nursing an ankle injury that has limited his minutes since playing for Saints against Leeds United. The Albania international was unable to play for his country last week due to this injury and he returned to Southampton’s Staplewood Campus early during the international break.
Redmond’s return comes after he tested positive for COVID-19 and he has seemingly made a recovery.
There is some rather ominous team news for Ralph Hasenhuttl, however.
The availability of captain James Ward-Prowse is unclear after he withdrew from England duty with an illness last week.
Meanwhile, Jack Stephens isn’t expected to be fit in time for the Norwich visit as he continues his recovery from the knee injury he sustained in September.
