Southampton sign former Chelsea and Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero

Arsenal vs Southampton team news

Southampton were forced into signing veteran goalkeeper Willy Caballero, previously of Chelsea and Manchester City, following the injuries of Saints’ two senior goalkeepers Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster.

It’s expected that the 40-year-old will make his Southampton debut this afternoon.

Elsewhere for the Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Saints, Oriol Romeu and Mohamed Salisu are both suspended. In terms of injuries, Stuart Armstrong is also confirmed out, while Jan Bednarek and Che Adams could feature after recent knocks.

Today’s hosts Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of Emile Smith Rowe, who has been one of the Gunners’ key attacking players so far this season.

Gabriel Martinelli is expected to be available despite being substituted for a hamstring injury away at Everton last week.
