“Fair game” - Frank Lampard’s thoughts on Southampton’s alleged stalling tactics

Southampton vs Everton team news

On Saturday afternoon Southampton take on Everton in the reverse fixture of their Premier League opener.

The Toffees took all three points when these sides first met with a 3-1 win.

Much has changed since then. Southampton are currently on a decent run of form, while Everton began flirting with a relegation battle - prompting the club to part ways with Rafa Benitez and hiring former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

In terms of team news, Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is free of any new injury concerns for Everton’s visit.

Nathan Redmond is back in training and could feature, while Jan Bednarek and Mohamed Elyounoussi are said to be available despite being forced off in their last game against Manchester United.

Nathan Tella remains sidelined with injury.

Everton have much more injuries to contend with.

Demarai Gray, Yerry Mina, Ben Godfrey and Fabian Delph are all out injured, while Abdoulaye Doucoure isn’t expected to be fit enough to play.

New signing Vitaliy Mykolenko could return after missing two games due to Covid-19.
