According to a report, Southampton have targeted Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski for a move in the summer transfer window.

Goalkeeper has been a problem position for the Saints for some time now and it’s the Telegraph that says Dragowski is the man Southampton want to bring in.

Long-time Saints ‘keeper Fraser Forster has a contract with the club that expires in just two months’ time and his future on the South Coast is unclear.

Meanwhile, Alex McCarthy has struggled for consistent form since joining Southampton in 2016. More recently, the one-cap England international has been sidelined with injury.

The report states that Dragowski could move to Southampton in a £10m deal from the Serie A side.

Dragowski, who also has one cap for his national team Poland, joined Fiorentina in 2016 from Ekstraklasa side Jagiellonia Bialystok.

The Pole was a back-up option for I Viola until a breakout campaign on loan at Empoli in 2018-19. In the next two league campaigns, Dragowski was Fiorentina’s main goalkeeping option, making 67 apperances over both seasons.

However, the 24-year-old goalkeeper has only made seven Serie A appearances so far for Fiorentina in this ongoing 2021-22 season, with Pietro Terracciano preferred as their number one.
